Me Too– by Louise
You say that we can't remember that good. -- I am 95 and I remember that I was four. We lived in Hobbs, New Mexico. Daddy had some of the 'Mexico money' left. There was a big 'oil boom'. Daddy went there 'to look' and there were so many men standing around on the streets. There were not enough places for them to eat. He bought a nice restaurant and moved our family out there, from Breckenridge. It was running fine. There were two or three old men who liked to set out front.
I wandered outside and one of the men talked to me and held my hand and put it on his private parts. It felt warm and bad. I run inside and told Mama, "I don't like that old man." She knew that I liked everybody. She was excited and asked me if he hurt me. I told her "No." She told Daddy and he made the old men move. It was never mentioned--but it's still a clear as day to me. It was 91 years ago.
